BIG GUNS

Here it is!

World's first competitive rear engine nitro Harley, built by Rode Werk Engineering and owner/rider Chris Gartman. The plan was on the table for 5 years before Dave Rode was able to begin construction of the frame. Two and a half more years before completion... nothing was easy.

Big Guns has approximately 20 percent more weight on the front wheel than a conventional drag bike. The wheel base is 104 inches, race weight 560 pounds, triple 8 inch disc funny car style clutch mounted on engine sprocket shaft (no primary drive), and 150 cubic inch Fast Cat assembled by Liberty Machine.

The bike handles like a dream, but we haven't been able to keep the candles lit past the 1200' mark. It does look promising. After 29 hits these are the numbers: 60' - 1.16; 660' - 4.70; 1320' - 7.37.

A ton of sponsors, friends and associates have helped with this project. Without them this achievement would not have been attainable. The Panic Racing Team is eternally grateful.
